Ted Bundy helped catch the Green River Killer when he was on death row. Detectives spend hours upon hours interviewing him to get some insight on the serial killers mind. All the sources were very similar on how they started. This one started with explaining the background of the murders and then went into detail on how Ted Bundy helped give insight to catch the Green River Killer. This would be a primary source because they interviewed one of the detectives and had quotes directly from the person who interviewed Ted Bundy. This contributed to my research by explaining what went into catching the killer and finding out who it was. This source is credible because it was written in 2020 and all the facts were verifiable. It was also written by a credible author.
“Gary Ridgway.” Biography.com, A&E Networks Television, 14 Feb. 2020, biography.com/crime-figure/gary-ridgway.
Gary Ridgway was born February 18, 1949 in Salt Lake City Utah. He grew up in Washington state and was married three times. He admitted to killing 80 women. He was raised poor and deprived. He experience trauma at a young age. He would bring prostitutes and runaways to his house or in the woods and strangle them to death. This contributed to my research and the law by mostly giving information on Gary´s childhood and the way he grew up. This source also said when where and how the murders took place and how they happened. This is a secondary source because it isn't just one sided. It gives information from all points of view. This is credible because it relates to all the other sources I used and it gives the sources and information to back up every claim.
Montaldo, Charles. “Green River Killer Gary Ridgway Pleaded Guilty to Murdering 48 Women.” ThoughtCo, 24 June 2019, thoughtco.com/green-river-killer-gary-ridgway-973098.
Gary was the middle son of Mary and Tom Ridgway. His childhood was rough, as he struggled in school and was obsessing over sex. That led him into his adult years and he went on a 20 year killing spree. He was not convicted until 2001. He is now 71 years old and is being held in a penitentiary the rest of his life in Walla Walla. This is a secondary source because it offers and unbiased story and tells the information from other researchers and sources. This contributed to my research because it went along to tell about his life growing up and basically if his killings were because of nature or nurture. This is a credible source because it was written by a credible author and the facts were verifiable. It was also published fairly recent in 2019.

Gary Leon Ridgway is a 71 year old serial killer, who killed as many as 80 women. He experienced trauma as a kid. He was sentenced to 48 life sentences. His mother was abusive towards his family and he had always been an odd but nice kid before his violence started. This source contributed to my research by explaining how Gary Ridgway was captured and how the new technology helped trace the crimes back to him because they saved a piece of his hair from 20 years prior. It is a secondary source because it explains the situation but the author didn't witness it first hand. I know it is credible because the facts were backed up by evidence and the author who writ it gave the credible sources he wrote it from. It was also written in 2020 so it is a newer source.
Tizon, Thomas. “Green River Killer.” Criminal Justice Policy Coalition, 12 Jan. 2004, cjpc.org/green-river-killer.html.
The Green river killer changed how crimes are solved and how justice is shown. Gary made a deal that he would give the locations of the bodies for his life. Which means he would escape the death penalty. This contributed to my research by explaining how laws in Washington were changed because of the Green river killer. This is a secondary source because the author has quotes from primary sources in the artical. It is a credible source because the website ends in org. The author is a credible author and the information was all backed up by facts.
Wilmont, Mathew R. “Sparing Gary Ridgway: The Demise of the Death Penalty in Washington State?” Willamette.edu, 2005, willamette.edu/law/pdf/review/41-2/wilmot.pdf.
Already being controversial, the death penalty has gotten a lot of input since the case of The Green River Killer. This has changed laws in the state of Washington for years to come because of Gary Ridgway escaping the death penalty. This contributed to my artical because I did not know what the laws were regarding the death penalty and this source helped me get a better understanding on that subject. It is a primary source because its a PDF and it has all the information from the day he was in court and laws were changed. Its credible because the website is edu and all the information was verifiable.
