Leaving the stomach tissue in Red Gatorade for 72 hours had a major impact on the mass, volume, and color of the tissue
There are 80 calories in Gatorade, along with 21g of sugar per 12oz bottle. The mass changed by 9.6g! The volume changed by 1 mL and the density percent change was 382.5%!Red Gatorade can have a positive or negative effect. Though, most of the time it has a negative effect because you drink it so you can re-gain the sodium you lose when you exercise. Most people who drink Gatorade are not that active, so it has a negative effect on their body. The independent variable, (Gatorade) made the dependent variable, (Stomach Tissue) heavier.
The reason why Gatorade could have a positive effect is because one liter of Gatorade will replace the sodium lost in half a liter of sweat when you exercise! The mass changed tremendously because the drink adds what you lose. The reason why it has a negative effect, is because for people who drink Gatorade, but are not active, the Gatorade will give you extra sodium, which is negative, and Gatorade has flavoring, and coloring ingredients that are not good for the body. The density also changed by a lot because the stomach tissue absorbed the coloring and flavoring which is bad. In conclusion, Gatorade was created to keep athletes hydrated, and is not what everyone thinks it is. Everyone thinks that it's a really good drink, and it's healthy for you! But really, it not healthy for you if you're not active.
