techniques and skills I am learning

This week was fun trying to find natural frames to use in my photography. I really had to focus on my surroundings in order to find frames that I could use. I also really enjoyed converting my photos to black and white.

experiments I am attempting to stretch and explore

I am starting to pay attention to the compostition of my photographs by experimenting with different subject matters and perspectives to make my photos more appealing to the eye.

challenges I faced

With natural framing, I ran into the problem of finding subjects to fit into the frames I found.  I also ran out of time, due to trying to finish my photographer presentation, and had to rush towards the end to get the number of pictures I needed. This led to a few of my photos not being as great as I wish they could be.

problem solving strategies I am trying

I am trying to be more relaxed with my photo-taking in the sense that I am taking a lot of photos at a time instead of trying to wait and snapping only one photo. This gives me a lot of options that I can scroll through and pick from. It also helps me to think of the project in more of a fun way rather than just work that needs to get done.

development and changing of ideas

An example of the changing of ideas is how I would take a photo in color and it would look a certain way, and then I would change it to black and white and it would look totally different. I did almost all my pictures in black and white because I felt like it showed the contrast really well and it also made my pictures that had a lot of unnecessary color in them to turn more simplified. I left two of my photographs in color because the subjects are in such a color that it catches the eye and I didn't want to let go of that.
